Innovator's Showcase

Setting the Stage for Success

We have fostered an environment with our students, who are teachers and learners, students who thrive on creation and collaboration, students who desire opportunities to share what they are doing with the world.  These same students are continuously challenging us to model and set a stage for success.

In order to keep up with the demands of our students, we created Innovator's Showcase.    Innovator's showcase is our twist on what schools commonly refer to as Author Celebration... a time for students to celebrate and share their writing with an audience.

Writing time, with the Two Sassy Apples, is also a time of research and exploring.  Students are currently working on nonfiction, informational type writing.  Students dove naturally right into reading and writing about things they know.   All this information exploded into creations... creations, designs, innovations, that went along with the students' writing, innovations in all, technology, engineering, art and math.

Barnes and Noble is a host to thousands of examples of published authors and innovators, so naturally Barnes and Noble was our first choice in a location to host this event.  They were so excited to support this event that they also morphed into a book fair.

What a great experience for students to showcase their work among published authors and creators!

A local news station caught wind of this event and came to our classroom to interview students and help spread the word.
